The evolution from an objectively worse state to an objectively better state. Applies to individuals' lives as well as to society as a whole.

Progress is synonymous with Error Correction and optimism in action. It is driven by Conjecture and Criticism, never guaranteed, but always possible. Stasis is its absence; Pessimism is its denial.
